Ebony Tyler, Founder & Executive Director

 

 Ebony Tyler is a Flatbush, Brooklyn native she graduated from Midwood High School at Brooklyn College in 1995. Immediately after high school, she headed ofified Vocational Evaluator in 2025. Ebony has over 24 years in public education, where she worked in various roles as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, learning-to-work coordinator, youth counselor, and community engagement manager, academic counselor and adjunct professor. Ebony experience expands throughout the K-12 and college.  Ebony's specialty is building programs and coordinating activities for students that prepare them for life post-high school as it relates to education, employment, and independent living. Ebony is skilled in vocational counseling, internship development, job placement, facilitating workshops, coaching special education teachers, and designing and facilitating professional development programming in youth career development and program design. Ebony's goal as founder and Executive Director of Liberated Success, Inc. is to fill an information gap for young people and families as it relates to career development, through intentional career exploration activities, employment readiness training, mentoring, and leadership development. Ebony is a mom of two college-aged sons, a spin & body pump enthusiast, a lover of plants, live concerts, HBCUs, and Caribbean Beaches.

Zaymira Gaspard, College And Career Coordinator

  Zaymira was born and raised in the vibrant borough of the Bronx in New York City. She pursued a degree in Sociology at Boston College. After completing her undergraduate studies, her dedication to promoting positive change for Black and brown youth led her to further her education at New York University. There, she earned a Master's degree in the Sociology of Education, expanding her knowledge and expertise in how social factors impact educational and life outcomes. For leisure, she enjoys nature, R&B music, and cooking! During summer 2023 Zaymira served as a fellow for Future Leaders in Action, an organization dedicated to cultivating the next generation of change-makers. Through her FLIA fellowship, she partnered with Liberated Success to streamline the organization processes, boost productivity, and support the launch of a new college success mentorship program. We are excited for the talent Zaymira brings to her new role. 

Veron Jeffery, SAT Instructor

  Vernon is the founder of JTS Prep – a test prep company that provides services for test and academic preparation nationwide.  As a former pre-health advisor, Vernon helped students of low socioeconomic backgrounds matriculate to health professional schools.  His experience helped him become an MCAT instructor, which inspired him to learn how to help students prepare for the SAT as well.  For over fifteen years, Vernon has helped hundreds of students of all backgrounds become competitive applicants for universities and graduate schools.   

Lina Ragin, Social Emotional Learning Educator

Lina Ragin is a visionary educator, founder of Rebel Tutoring, and family engagement specialist with 20 years of experience spanning classroom teaching, instructional leadership, and curriculum design. Her career has centered on advancing equity, community voice, and whole-child development across diverse learning environments. She leads dynamic workshops that help parents understand their child’s developmental needs, align home habits with school expectations, and build the skills that set kids up for lifelong success. Lina is currently working toward opening a school focused on creating opportunity pathways for middle school students, with a mission to empower young people through education, identity development, and access.

Muhammed Garland, Clinical Supervisor

 With over 16 years of experience in mental health and social services, Muhammed is a licensed psychotherapist who brings exceptional depth and versatility to his practice. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Operations at NYC Affirmative Psychotherapy, an online psychotherapy practice, while maintaining a thriving private practice, he combines clinical expertise with organizational leadership. Muhammed's journey in mental health began in New York City's nonprofit sector, where he spent nine years working with individuals facing complex challenges including homelessness, severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and chronic medical conditions. This foundational experience shaped his holistic, person-centered approach to therapy. After earning his Master's in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work, Muhammed expanded his clinical focus to include traditional therapy settings, working with diverse populations from young adults to seniors. His expertise spans individual, group, and crisis intervention modalities, with a particular strength in trauma-informed care. Beyond his clinical work, Muhammed is passionate about advancing the field through education and mentorship. He offers professional development training for mental health practitioners and provides workshops for community organizations. As part of his commitment to giving back, he contributes his expertise to Columbia University by providing technical support for their online learning community.

Muhammed is dedicated to making mental health support more accessible and effective. Whether working one-on-one with clients, leading professional development sessions, or supporting community initiatives, he brings warmth, expertise, and a deep commitment to fostering positive change.

Meridith E. Malloy, Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach

 Meridith E. Malloy is an educator, certified health coach and wellness advocate in trauma-informed education, behavioral support and holistic healing. With experience in supporting young people in academic and community-based settings, Meridith brings a unique blend of lived experience and professional training to the work of helping young people navigate anxiety, identity and emotional regulation during critical transitions in life. As the creator of Move Different, a wellness-based life skills curriculum designed for teens and young adults (ages 16-22) who are struggling to stay engaged and grounded in today’s overstimulated world. Drawing from her personal healing journey and her work in education, Meridith equips youth with tools around food, emotions, habits and purpose connecting wellness to real world academic and personal outcomes. Her work is  culturally relevant, practical and intentionally designed to fill the gap between what students feel and what they are often not taught to manage. Meridith’s approach meets young people where they are with compassion, structure and actionable tools so they can show up stronger within themselves, academically and in the world.
